Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 27, 2026
VISID ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Account credentials (password is encrypted)
- Subscription and billing information (via Stripe)
- Token balance and usage history
Image Data
When you use our stamping service, we collect and store:
- Image files you upload for stamping, which are temporarily stored for up to 7 days after processing then permanently deleted
- Metadata you declare (creator name, copyright, keywords, etc.) and AI-generated metadata created during processing - retained as part of your permanent stamp record
- Perceptual hash values derived from your image (32 values used for image matching and version detection). These are mathematical fingerprints of your image, not the image itself, and are retained indefinitely as part of your stamp record
- Vi chat messages and any image content or metadata you share with Vi during a session, transmitted to Anthropic to generate responses. Conversations flagged for abuse monitoring may be retained by VISID.
Usage Information
We automatically collect:
- Service usage patterns (stamping frequency, mode preferences)
- Technical information (browser type, IP address, device information)
- Error logs and performance data
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain our image stamping service
- Process your images with AI-generated metadata
- Manage your account, tokens, and subscriptions
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Send service-related notifications (stamping status, billing updates)
- Improve our service and develop new features
- Comply with legal obligations
- Monitor Vi chat conversations for abuse, misuse, or violations of our acceptable use policy. Flagged conversations may be reviewed by VISID staff.
- Use perceptual hash values derived from your images to power image matching, version detection, and family graph features on the Verify page
3. Image Storage and Retention
Raw Uploads: Images you upload for processing are temporarily stored only for the duration necessary to complete stamping. Raw uploads are automatically deleted immediately after processing is complete.
Stamped Images: Your stamped (processed) images are stored and made available for download for up to 7 days, after which they are automatically deleted from our servers.
Thumbnails: A small thumbnail preview of each stamped image is retained indefinitely as part of your stamp history, allowing you to identify and reference past stamps in your dashboard.
Stamp Records: We retain records of each stamp including metadata (title, description, keywords, creator name, copyright info, tone, social captions, and other fields you provided or that were AI-generated) indefinitely as part of your stamp history. You may request deletion of your stamp history by contacting us.
Public Verify Index: When you stamp an image, a permanent public record is created and added to the VISID Verify index at visid.app/verify/[visid]. This record contains your declared information as described in our Terms of Service and is accessible to anyone without an account. It is not private. This is a core and intentional feature of VISID - the public index is what makes stamped images verifiable by third parties, search engines, and AI systems. This record persists after subscription cancellation and after account deletion. If you do not wish for your declared information to be publicly indexed, do not stamp images with VISID.
4. AI Training and Your Images
We respect your AI training preferences:
- We do not use your images to train any AI models of our own
- Images and related data are sent to our third-party AI providers (see Section 5) solely to generate metadata, descriptions, and Vi's responses for your stamps and conversations
- The AI training permission you set in your metadata applies to how others may use your stamped images
- We honor your specified AI training permissions in the embedded metadata
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
Service Providers
- Supabase: Database and authentication services
- Stripe: Payment processing
- Vercel: Hosting and infrastructure
- n8n: Workflow automation for image processing
- OpenAI: Vision analysis of your image during stamping, used to generate title, description, subject, keywords, and social copy. Your image and declared metadata are transmitted to OpenAI solely for this purpose. OpenAI does not retain your image data beyond the duration of the API call under their standard data processing terms.
- Anthropic: Powers Vi, our in-app assistant. Chat messages, image metadata, and any image content you share with Vi are transmitted to Anthropic solely to generate Vi's responses. On Ask Vi calls (stamp, view, and verify pages), your image or record data is transmitted to Anthropic for direct analysis. Anthropic does not retain your data beyond the duration of the API call under their standard data processing terms.
- DataForSEO: Search trend data for SEO-Calibrated stamping. No image data is transmitted to DataForSEO.
- Upstash: Rate limiting to protect service availability. No personal data is stored.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure authentication with hashed passwords
- Regular security audits and updates
- Access controls and monitoring
- Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your account information and update it at any time
- Delete your account and associated personal data
- Export your data (contact us for data export requests)
- Opt out of marketing communications (we currently send only essential service emails)
- Request correction of inaccurate information
Note on deletion and the public Verify index: VISID's Verify index (visid.app/verify) is a permanent, public provenance record by design — this is core to how VISID works. Deleting your account removes your personal account data and any pending raw uploads, but does not remove previously stamped images' public Verify records, which remain part of the permanent public ledger.
8. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use VISID.
We collect attribution data (UTM parameters such as source, medium, and campaign) when you arrive via a tracked link. This information is stored in your account profile and used solely to understand how users discover VISID. It is never shared with third parties or used for advertising purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
VISID is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using VISID, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the service. Your continued use of VISID after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
